Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: April 7, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Rabbit Hole platform operated by Burrowly. This policy supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, create, or share content that:

  • Violates the law — Content that is illegal in the United States or your jurisdiction, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content promoting terrorism, or content facilitating illegal drug trafficking
  • Infringes intellectual property — Copyrighted material you don't have rights to, pirated software, or plagiarized academic work
  • Harasses or threatens — Targeted harassment, doxxing, hate speech directed at individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, or credible threats of violence
  • Contains malware — Viruses, trojans, ransomware, keyloggers, or any software designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to systems
  • Is deceptive — Phishing pages, impersonation of real people or organizations, or deliberately misleading content designed to manipulate other users

2. Prohibited Behavior

You may not:

  • Manipulate engagement metrics — Artificially inflating view counts, vote scores, or follower counts through automated tools, bots, or coordinated inauthentic behavior
  • Abuse the platform infrastructure — Excessive API calls, scraping content from other users' public Burrows at scale, or deliberately triggering error conditions to degrade service
  • Circumvent billing or limits — Exploiting bugs to bypass subscription tier limits, storage caps, or AI token quotas. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to security@burrowly.app
  • Create multiple accounts — Operating multiple free-tier accounts to circumvent per-user limits. One account per person is the standard policy
  • Spam or abuse social features — Sending unsolicited DMs in bulk, posting repetitive promotional content, or using the comment system for advertising

3. AI Usage Guidelines

When using AI features (chat, study plans, deep research, analysis):

  • You may not use AI features to generate content that violates this AUP
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated outputs before acting on them
  • You may not use AI features to impersonate real people or generate misleading academic work intended to be submitted as your own
  • BYOK users must comply with their AI provider's own acceptable use policies in addition to this AUP

4. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this policy, please report it using the in-app reporting feature (available on all public content and user profiles) or email abuse@burrowly.app.

We review all reports within 48 hours and take appropriate action, which may include content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.

5. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning — for first-time minor violations
  • Content removal — offending content will be removed without notice
  • Temporary suspension — up to 30 days for repeated or moderate violations
  • Permanent ban — for severe violations, illegal content, or repeat offenders

We reserve the right to determine the severity of violations and the appropriate response at our sole discretion.

6. Responsible Disclosure

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, we ask that you report it responsibly by emailing security@burrowly.app rather than exploiting it. We commit to acknowledging your report within 24 hours and will not take legal action against good-faith security researchers.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
